Each yoga class will include a 5-minute centering exercise where we tune in to the breath and focus on slowing down and preparing for our practice. I will guide the athletes to close their eyes and we will practice breathing techniques to calm the mind and body. Then will move in to a little warm up, approximately 10 mins of slow movements. Next, I will guide the athletes through various yoga poses and stretches that aim to stretch the entire body.
A lot of the poses will be done on the floor. I will also recommend the athletes have a chair nearby in case they want to use it to help balance themselves for any standing poses that we do. We will slow the pace down with some stretches to cool down for the last 10 minutes and then relax in savasana (eyes closed laying on the back) for at least the last 5 minutes of class!
